A new study lists Macon as one of the top 25 most charitable cities in the US.
The report by the Chronicle of Philanthropy appears in the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Four Georgia cities made the cut. Macon ranks 13. That's behind #8 Albany, but ahead of #19 Hinesville and #23 Columbus.
That's based on the percentage of a donor's income is given to charity.
In metro Macon, that number is about 7.7 percent.
People in Warner Robins gave 6.9 percent of their income to charity, good for #36 on the list.
According to the Chronicle of Philanthropy's website, other notable Georgia cities in the top 100 on national list include Augusta (#26 - 7.2 percent), Savannah (#71 - 6 percent), Athens (#74 - 6 percent) and Atlanta (#82 - 5.9 percent).
