Magic Johnson Bridgescape Center In Macon Holds Open Houses | News
The Magic Johnson Bridgescape Center in Macon is now open. The school offers an alternative to students trying to get a high school diploma through online courses. But, they started open houses Friday and today for Central Georgian families.
LaMonica Sanford, the school's principal, said if you are a student that's having trouble learning in a traditional school, they might be the right for you.
"Students are able to work by themselves and they are able to work at their own pace, however if students need assistance we actually have students here that can assist them with their courses. We also have teachers online," said Sanford.
At the school located on Northside Drive in Macon, there have an AM shift and PM shift for students who have to work odd hours or take care of family.
Those who are interested can apply at the school or online at http://ga.provostacademy.com/enroll-ga.
Sanford said while they are an alternative, they aren't trying to take anything away from traditional school districts.
"I would just like to make something extremely clear we are not competing with any school systems we just want to offer an alternative for those students that need an alternative," said Sanford.
If you missed the open houses, the next one is Friday March 1st and Saturday, March 2nd.
