Macon Police Say FBI's Giddings Investigation Going 'Smoothly'
News

The FBI's investigation of Lauren Giddings' homicide is "going smoothly," according to a Macon police news release.

Police have sent dozens of pieces of evidence in the case to the FBI for analysis and are still awaiting forensic test results. Macon police initially said they hoped to get those tests results two weeks ago, but since then have returned twice to Giddings' Barristers Hall apartment complex to gather evidence.

The news release says Macon police were in contact with the FBI Monday afternoon. That's according to Major Charles Stone, head of the department's investigative division.

The police statement says: "The FBI reports that their investigation is moving smoothly. The lab technicians are working diligently and want everyone to understand that processing takes time. The FBI asks for everyone's patience as they work for accurate results."
