Marjorie Watson Hickson, 88, of Macon, Georgia died January 4, 2012 at Morningside Assisted Living, her home for the last four years. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend John Haney officiating. Private burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. A visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.

Marjorie was born in Grovania, Georgia and graduated from Perry High School. She continued her education at Georgia Business School and worked in Human Resources for Cochran Field during her mid to late 20s. She was also co-owner with her husband for 30 years at Hickson’s Drug Store on Napier Avenue.

Margie had a love for life, music and dancing and was devoted, caring, concerned, funny, entertaining, and loved to be the center of attention. She deeply loved her family and friends.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Hickson, Sr.; parents, Willie Maude Watson Beaty and Grover C. Watson; sister, Melba Allen; and brother, Scarborough Watson. Survivors include her three children, Laura Hickson of Ellijay, Georgia, Mona Beavers of Marietta, Georgia, and Donnie Hickson of Macon, Georgia; two grandchildren, Bryson Beavers of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Lacey Hickson of Macon; three great granddaughters, Honestie, Destiny and Chastity Hickson; and also four sisters, Dorothy Goumas of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Jacqueline Humphreys of North Augusta, South Carolina, Sybil Castellaw of Macon, Georgia, and Cookie Varner of Hilton Head, South Carolina.
