Macon-Terry Lee O’Neal, 56, died Monday, January 23, 2012. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on Friday, January 27, 2012 in the chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend Steve K. Smith officiating and Russell Loyd giving the eulogy. Burial is private. Family will greet friends between 6:00-8:00PM on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Cupola. Family may be contacted at the residence.

He was the owner of Robins Federal Insurance Agencyin Warner Robins, GA from 1985-2012. He was past co-owner of Georgia Insurance Agency in Macon. He was a King Crab fisherman in Alaska from 1976-1983 and was the Captain of the North Command that final year. Mr. O’Neal was a Charter Member of the Better Business Bureau and won numerous awards and designations in the insurance field. He served on multiple state wide insurance committees. He was honored to be appointed by Max Clelland to his Small Business Task Force in 1995. He was a 1973 graduate of Southwest. Mr. O’Neal was a member and a 1994-1995 President of the Macon Sertoma Club. He was 1991-1992 Sertoman of the Year. He received the Centurtion Award from Sertoma International in 1992 making him a lifetime member of the organization. He was Chairman of Casino Night in 1999 and received the award for Outstanding Ticket Sales for the Annual Charity Drive in 1993.

Mr. O’Neal is survived by his wife, Sonja Everett O’Neal of Macon; daughter, Misti Grinder of Macon; mother, Lois O’Neal of Macon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Lillian Everett of Centerville; brother-in-law, Steve Everett (Angie); brother, Charles O’Neal (Carol) of Macon; beloved pet, John Henry Elvis O’Neal; nephews, Chuck O’Neal, Craig O’Neal (Lisa), and Colin O’Neal (Brandi), all from Macon; and many great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
