Ruby Dell Johnson

 

Macon- Ruby Dell Johnson Jones, 85, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 19, 2011. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 2:00PM at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Jones was a member of Wheeler Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her son and daughters, Joseph Jones (Joan) of Hahira, Linda Lane (Martin) of Braselton, Bernice Simmons (Walter) of Jones County, Ellen Jones (Eddie) of Macon and Betty Williams (Sam) of Fort Valley and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

James Tyre

 

Macon-James P. “J.P.” Tyre passed away on September 19, 2011. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with Dr. David Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church Building Fund, 6611 Zebulon Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, or donor’s favorite charity.

Mr. Tyre was born December 19, 1919. He was born and reared in Baxley, Georgia and lived in Macon for 60 years. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base. During World War II, he served in the Medical Corps – United States Army. Mr. Tyre was a long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and Victory Sunday School Class.

Hartley Davis

 

Macon- Hartley Neal Davis, 57, of 2375 Vineville Avenue, died Monday, September 19, 2011.

Mr. Davis was the son of the late Lewis Henry Davis and the late Isadore Powell Davis. He was predeceased by his brother and sister, Butch Davis and Patsy Davis. Mr. Davis was a member of Ingleside United Methodist Church. He was a free spirit who liked to fish. He loved his pets, his favorite dog, Breeze, and Ashley, Jake, Ida and Zeb, considering them his four legged children.

Mr. Davis is survived by his beloved partner, Priscilla Kitchens; his son, Cameron Hartley Claxton and several cousins.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 2:00PM at Ingleside United Methodist Church with the Reverends Richard Lanning and Josh Bizell officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the church.

Reverend R. Paul Creech

 

Macon- The Reverend R. Paul Creech, 48, of 6332 Carey Drive, concluded his battle with cancer Thursday, September 15, 2011. Services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2011, at 7:00PM, in the chapel of Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola with the Reverend Eddie Hodges officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM, at the Cupola. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Free Will Baptist International Missions, P. O. Box 5002, Antioch, Tennessee 37011-5002 or to an educational fund presently being established for the Creech children. Ruben Glenwood Parden

 

Forsyth - Ruben Glenwood Parden died Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Dames Ferry Baptist Church, with the Reverends Lee Brown and Sam Waldron officiating. Burial will be at Dames Ferry Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends between 6 PM and 8 PM on Thursday at Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 2951 Flowers Rd. S, Suite 211, Atlanta, Georgia 30341.

Mr. Parden adored his wife, children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was a veteran of World War II and was a Normandy Beach survivor. He was of the Baptist faith, and his favorite hobbies were woodworking, fishing, and gardening.

Elizabeth Nancy Williamson

 

Macon-Elizabeth Powell Williamson, 64, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Funeral services will be held in conjunction with that of Mrs. Shirley Stephan at 11:00AM on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Vineville Baptist Church with Dr. Tripp Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be between 6:00-7:30PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Georgia Masonic Home, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, Georgia 31211.

Mrs. Williamson was raised at the Georgia Masonic Home. She attended Vineville Baptist Church. She received a Bachelor’s degree from West Georgia College and her Master’s degree from Georgia College. Mrs. Williamson retired as a school teacher from the Bibb County School System.
