Frank Hawkins

 

Gray- Frank Hawkins, 74, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at 11:00AM, in Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Jones County. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central GA Chapter, 277 MLK Jr. Blvd, Suite 201, Macon, GA 31201 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. 4406, Macon, GA 31208.

Mr. Hawkins loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He owned a dairy farm for 34 years and Cedar Creek Construction Company for 35 years. Mr. Hawkins was also a member of the Moose Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay Wheeler Hawkins, and by his parents, Rosa May Hawkins and Millard Hunt Hawkins.

June Meadows Castell

Macon-June Meadows Castell, 62, loving mother, grandmother and sister left us on Thursday, June 23, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. June resided in Lizella and worked for a number of years as a computer technician and technology specialist with the Bibb County Board of Education. She was a member of Lizella Baptist Church. Memorial Services will be held at Lizella Baptist Church at 11:00am on Saturday, June 25, 2011, with Pastor Shannon Back officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. June was born in Macon and was preceded in death by her parents Bertha McCook and Coleman Meadows and brother Samuel Meadows. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Miranda Long (Wayne), son Richard Webb, Jr (Kim), grandchildren Anne Marie Long and Marybeth Webb.

Charlie Perkins

 

Milledgeville-Charlie Wright “CW” Perkins died Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM on Friday, June 24, 2011 at Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road with Pastor Tim Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be between 7:00-9:00PM on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Cupola. Family may be reached at the residence of Shirley Teters, 111 Timber Ridge Drive. James Wood

 

Macon- James Robert Wood, 65, of 315 Lakeview Road, died Monday, June 20, 2011. Services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:00AM at Union Chapel Evangelistic Church with the Reverend Billy Lowe officiating. Burial will be in the Jim Wood Family Cemetery, Morris Stevens Road, Jones County, Georgia. The family may be contacted at the residence of Luther W. Wood, 327 Pineland Road, Dry Branch, Georgia and will greet friends on Wednesday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street.

Mr. Wood was a member of Union Chapel Evangelistic Church.

Mr. Wood is survived by his stepchildren, James Pent Johnson of Macon, Donald Gene Proctor of Macon and Eleanor Jane Clark of Jones County; twelve step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; brother, Luther W. Wood of Dry Branch; sisters, Annie L. Fountain of Macon, Myrtie Ashley of Macon and Florence Cannon of Byron; several nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou Reid

 

Mary Lou Roberts Reid died June 18, 2011. Graveside Services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Brother Peter Bennion officiating. Visitation will be held between 6:00 and 8:00 PM on Monday, June 20, 2011, at Hart’s at the Cupola. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.

Mrs. Reid was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a Nursing Assistant at Middle Georgia Hospital for twenty years. She was predeceased by one grandson.

Mrs. Reid is survived by her children, Diane Watkins of Rutledge, Georgia, Beverly Brown of Sacramento, California, Bobby G. Reid, Jr. and Melony Miller, both of Macon; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, June Harper of Macon.

Katherine Hooks Ross Byers, of North Augusta, South Carolina passed away Friday, June 17, 2011. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, Macon, Ga. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
