Macon--Kye Holland Kitchens passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011. A Graveside Service will be held in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery at 4:00 PM on Monday May 16, 2011. Visitation will be held one hour before from 3:00PM to 4:00PM in Antioch Baptist Church Sanctuary. The family may be contacted at 2312 Ridge Road, Macon, Georgia.

Frances Lindsley Carter

 

FRANCES LINDSLEY CARTER Macon- Mrs. Carter died peacefully in her sleep Friday morning May 13, 2011 at The Oaks at Peake, Macon, Georgia. She was born August 25, 1918 in Atlanta. Mrs. Carter had lived in Decatur, Sandy Springs, and St. Simons Island, Georgia and in Apalachicola,Florida.

She attended Atlanta public schools, graduated Atlanta Girls High School, and was a member of the 1940 class at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia.

Active in Civil Defense, Mrs. Carter was an aircraft spotter on St. Simons Island during WWII. Later she worked for the Sandy Springs branch of the Atlanta Public Library system. For many years she assisted her husband with Carter Interiors in both Sandy Springs and St. Simons Island.

Theodore L. Runge

 

Macon- Mr. Theodore L. Runge embarked on his journey with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 11 after several years of declining health.

Mr. Runge was proud of his military service to his country and was retired from Robins Air Force Base after more than thirty years. Teddie enjoyed tinkering around home, “standing” his political ground and learning and sharing his Christian faith. In most recent years, he was continuously accompanied by his canine buddy, Max.

Mr. Runge is predeceased by his wife of more than forty years, Dorothy Kennedy Runge. Hamilton and Monte want to thank the Bolingreen Nursing and Rehab staff, and particularly nurse station 5, for their tremendous and precious care during the last two years.

There will be a private interment at Northview Cemetery in Dublin, Georgia. The family requests any donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in loving memory.

Robert Batchelor

 

Macon- Robert Batchelor, 63, of 3508 Jessica Place, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend Jack Gregory officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Hospice of Central Georgia, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.

Mr. Batchelor, son of the late Clyde Aaron Batchelor, graduated from Lanier High School and attended Mercer University. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Mr. Batchelor loved the outdoors and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was retired from Sam’s Club after twenty years of service.

William Leon McLendon

 

Gray- William Leon McLendon, 81, of 110 Curtis James Road, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street. Burial will be in the Gordon Family Cemetery, Highway 18 W, Jones County. The family may be contacted at the residence and will greet friends on Friday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P. O. Box 515, Northampton, Massachusetts 01061-0515.
