James Beverly re-elected to GA House | Politics
State Rep. James Beverly (D-Macon) was re-elected to the Georgia House of Representative District 143 seat.
Beverly defeated former Bibb County Commissioner Lonzy Edwards with 67 percent of the vote.
Beverly was first elected to the seat in a special election 2011, and was re-elected in 2012.
Beverly says the win was a victory for the Macon community. "Poverty doesn't have to be, we can get rid of that stuff. This is not something that God made, this is not God made, this is man made stuff, and since man created it, man can fix it," he says.
The Democratic primary win means that Beverly will go back to Atlanta next session. No Republican filed for the seat in the November general election.
