Former Bibb Chair Bishop Considers Running for Mayor | Politics

Charlie Bishop, the former chairman of the Bibb County Commission posted a statement on the local Republican Facebook page that he is considering a bid for the Mayor's office.
"I am strongly considering entering the already crowded field of candidates for Mayor of the Macon-Bibb consolidated government," Bishop wrote.
Bishop was defeated by current Chairman Sam Hart in November 2008. Hart received 60 percent of the vote.
Hart announced Wednesday that he will seek the office of mayor and Mayor Robert Reichert confirmed he will run as well.
Former Mayor C. Jack Ellis told 13WMAZ last August that he would be a candidate for the top elected position in the newly formed consolidated government.
