Mercer's Return to Football Includes a New Marching Band | Schools
The last time Mercer had a marching band on campus was in the early 60s, according to Director of Marching and Athletic Bands Doug Cowden.
So when the football team takes the field on Saturday, the marching band will also make its return.
The Mercer University Marching Band consists mainly of students at Mercer, but students from other local institutions also participate in the program.
The band practiced marching from Penfield Hall on the campus, to football team's entrance on the field. The march took under five minutes total.
It was the first run through in full uniform, as members prepared for pregame festivities ahead of Saturday's home game.
