Santa arrives at the Macon Mall on noon Saturday.

Mall spokeswoman Kaylee Hutchins says Santa will arrive on heavy machinery like a tractor, to coincide with the mall's demolition theme.

Middle Georgian Wins Country Living Award

Middle Georgian Rachel Garza will be featured in the December issue of Country Living magazine.

Her blog, "Always a Project," won a blue ribbon award for the craft category in Country Living Blue Ribbon Blogger Awards.

The magazine-sponsored award had seven categories.

According to Country Living's website, the competition had over 700 entries in seven different categories.

The issue featuring Garza hits newsstands on November 22. The magazine hosted a national competition for bloggers and Garza won.

Country Living flew Garza to New York City  for a 2-day stay and an awards luncheon at the Hearst Tower.

The Mulberry Street Market will continue through the winter months, providing fresh, local foods even during the holidays. 

The Market Vendors are excited to brave the cooler weather in Mulberry Street Park and hope that all comers will still enjoy the greens and root vegetables that thrive in cooler weather. 

All are invited to try this fresh fare at the market today. 

The Mulberry Street Market takes place Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in Downtown Macon in front of the Grand Opera House. It is co-sponsored by the City of Macon, Macon Roots, and Community Health Works.

College Hill to Release Community Report

Learn why the College Hill Corridor is a great place to live, work and play! Enjoy free food and drinks and watch the debut of a new College Hill video. We will also debut a printed Report to the Community. 

That's Tuesday, October 25 from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Cox Capitol Theatre.

The event is open to the public and, we extend a special invitation to our partners involved in making the College Hill Corridor a better place to live, work and play. 

Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 6p.m.

Bass Rd. Chik-Fil-A to Celebrate Grand Opening

Bass Rd. Chik-Fil-A to Celebrate Grand Opening

Chik-fil-A on Bass Rd. has its grand opening Thursday, October 27.

The first 100 people to camp out overnight and stand in line on grand opening day will receive free Chick-fil-A for a year. 

How that works:  Chick-Fil-A will award 52 certificates to each of the first 100 adults in line, age 18 and older with identification, at the restaurant located at 1569 Bass Road. The line officially opens at 6 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26, with the free meal cards being awarded Thursday, Oct. 27, sometime between 6 a.m. and 6:10 a.m.

The restaurant will open for business immediately thereafter.

If there are more than 100 people by 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, all 100 spots will be determined by a raffle.
