3-on-3 Basketball Tournament for Youth

Hi friends and family of the Middle GA community,

We hope you all had a great summer, filled with lots of fun in the sun. Now that school’s starting back.

We hope that you will come out to participate in the inaugural Back to Skool Jam 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament Saturday, August 20 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the North Macon Park Recreational Center.

The tournament is open to players of ages 10-19 boys and girls, and will consist of 2 divisions Intermediate (Middle School), Elite (High School). It should be noted that all girls participating should have some prior experience in competitive basketball before registering.

Prizes for each division winner are given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. In addition, there will be a Timed Shootout Contest and a 3 Point Shooting Contest. Trophies will be awarded to winners in each division for both shooting contests.

Registration is open from now until August 20th (yes, you can register on site) and forms can be picked up from your coach and/or P.E teacher. Or you can go by North Macon Gym to pick up forms (you can also e-mail us @kayjay_42@hotmail.com, to hold a spot for you and/or your team). Entry fee for the tournament is $30 per team. If individuals wish to only enter the shooting contests then the fee is $5.

Teams will consist of a maximum of 4 players with a minimum of 2 eight graders in the intermediate division and/or 2 seniors in the Elite division on any team (Except for girls). In some cases there will be an adjusted scoring system used to evenly balance the different grades and/or gender within each division. Coaches, Teachers, and other Faculty members, make as many copies as you may need. You can contact North Macon Gym  at 478-477-8526 for more information.

We can also use a few volunteers to help set up courts, monitor games in various gyms, and assist as referees and scorekeepers in the shooting contests. Please let us know if you would like to assist.

This is a co-sponsored event by City of Macon-Bibb County Recreation Department and the Kobra Foundation.
