Mount de Sales Academy Senior Accepts Appointment with U. S. Naval Academy

Mount de Sales Academy senior Myles Swain has accepted a full appointment and signed a National Letter of Intent to play football with the United States Naval Academy beginning in the fall of 2012. Myles is one of only 250 appointments received of more than 21,000 applications submitted nationwide. Carrying a full value in excess of $400,000, a Naval Academy appointment includes tuition, room and board, medical and dental care, as well as monthly pay equal to that of a Midshipman. Appointees are also entitled to regular active-duty benefits including access to military commissaries and exchanges, commercial transportation and lodging discounts and the ability to fly space-available in military aircraft around the world. Myles’ brother Chris, a 2011 MDS graduate, also received an appointment and has just completed his first season of football play with the Navy Goats.

Bibb County has raised $299,558 for Relay for Life so far.

That's according to the Relay for Life website.

Bibb County's Relay for Life takes place May 4 at Al Sihah Shrine Park.

'I Love Macon Week'

MACON, GA.--I Love Macon Week takes place during Georgia Cities Week from April 22-28.

'I Love Macon' is a grassroots effort that focuses on what you love about Macon, a City of Macon news release says.

 

How to join the campaign: sign the pledge that says you will be an advocate for Macon, respond positively in the face of negativity and recruit five other people to sign the pledge.

Mercer Football Season Tickets Go on Sale

MACON, GA--Mercer Bears Football season tickets go on sale at the Second Annual Big Bear Event on April 21st, a Mercer Bears news release says.

That's at Mercer's University Center.

Ticket prices range from $50-75 per seat. A purchase guarantees the buyer seating at each of Mercer’s 2013 home games. The first season’s schedule has not been finalized, but will feature a minimum of seven home games.

 

Only 200 season ticket packages are available during the pre-sale, and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, with seat assignments determined at a later date.

2012 Men's Adult Baseball Tryouts

2012 Adult Baseball Tryouts this Saturday 1pm & Sunday 3pm at Game on Training in Byron ,Ga  We are looking to form our 6Th team. We are only taking the best 15-17 ballplayers. We are also looking for a Manager to run this elite team this season.  The season will begin in late May and end in mid August,  games will be played mostly on the weekends in Warner Robins and the Macon area. The league fee this season is $250.00 and will play 15 regular season games per team and a playoff series to crown the champion team. 

Tryouts: This will be a in-door tryout using a pitching mound and indoor batting cages to show off your skills, Once you have made this cut you will be contacted by a league official about your place on the team.
