Mount de Sales Academy Senior Accepts Appointment with U. S. Naval Academy

Mount de Sales Academy senior Myles Swain has accepted a full appointment and signed a National Letter of Intent to play football with the United States Naval Academy beginning in the fall of 2012. Myles is one of only 250 appointments received of more than 21,000 applications submitted nationwide. Carrying a full value in excess of $400,000, a Naval Academy appointment includes tuition, room and board, medical and dental care, as well as monthly pay equal to that of a Midshipman. Appointees are also entitled to regular active-duty benefits including access to military commissaries and exchanges, commercial transportation and lodging discounts and the ability to fly space-available in military aircraft around the world. Myles’ brother Chris, a 2011 MDS graduate, also received an appointment and has just completed his first season of football play with the Navy Goats.

Bibb County has raised $299,558 for Relay for Life so far.

That's according to the Relay for Life website.

Bibb County's Relay for Life takes place May 4 at Al Sihah Shrine Park.
