Ga. Children's Home to Establish Organic Gardening Site

The Georgia Industrial Children's home is refurbishing the existing Pecan orchard and establishing an organic gardening site. "Dinner in the Orchard" is a kick-off fundraiser on October 15, 2011. 

The first of its kind in Macon, "Moonlight in the Orchard" will provide attendees with the opportunity to indulge in locally grown and produced food and wine. With the assistance of a number of volunteers, the event will be staged under a beautiful harvest moon, with the Pecan Trees serving as the canopy for the evening. It is sure to be an unforgettable evening for attendees.

Bird Bird Bash Also Known As Lots of LIVE Music

 

 

The third quarterly Bird Bash will be held on October 8, 2011 from 12:00 PM-2:00AM. Proceeds benefit local musicians and Central GA CASA. This event raised over $8,000 for local musicians and over $5,000 for Central GA CASA so far this year.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through any band member. Complete with a Potato Sack Race and a High Heel Race

Alan Jackson to Perform at Macon Centreplex Thursday

Country superstar Alan Jackson takes his tour to the Macon Centreplex Coliseum in Macon, GA, on Thurs., Sept. 22. 

Tickets will be on sale July 15 and available at the Coliseum main box office, Ticketmaster.com, or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

Jackson is a 17-time winner at the ACM Awards and a 16-time CMA Award recipient, a tally that includes three CMA Entertainer of the Year honors. Jackson is also a two-time Grammy-honored artist, whose songwriting has earned him the prestigious ASCAP Founders Award.

A 2010 recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he’s known for music that celebrates the common man (“Where I Come From”), speaks to generations (“Drive [For Daddy Gene]”) and for our nation (“Where Were You [When the World Stopped Turning]”).  Jackson recently released his debut single from EMI Records Nashville/ACR (Alan’s Country Records), “Long Way To Go,” and a music video will be released soon.
