Sombrero Photo Scavenger Hunt Returns to Downtown Macon

Returning to Downtown Macon's Friday Fest will be the Sombrero Scavenger Hunt, where individuals can take photos in front of 'First Friday Hotspots' in sombreros, a NewTown Macon news release says.

Folks can then email the photos in for a chance to win a Flip camera.

The sombrero fun happens Friday, May 4.

Free sombreros and game cards will be available at Robins Federal Credit Union downtown location the week of April 30. You can also pick up sombreros and game cards at a tent in Third Street park from 6-8 on Friday.

Those who participate will need to find five of the ten hotspots based on clues from the game cards, take photos with sombreros, and send the photos to MaconFridayFest@gmail.com for a chance to win the flip camera.

'I Love Macon Week'

MACON, GA.--I Love Macon Week takes place during Georgia Cities Week from April 22-28.

'I Love Macon' is a grassroots effort that focuses on what you love about Macon, a City of Macon news release says.

 

How to join the campaign: sign the pledge that says you will be an advocate for Macon, respond positively in the face of negativity and recruit five other people to sign the pledge.

The music starts at 7 p.m.

The Hannah Thomas Band Facebook page says this about her,

"Hannah has performed at The Country Throwdown Fest with Montgomery Gentry and Little Big Town, The GA Country Fair with Gretchen Wilson, and has opened for such artists as Zac Brown, Craig Morgan, and Mother’s Finest. She has also already had numerous television appearances including live morning and afternoon TV and the Georgia Lottery competition."

Mercer CIT Championship Watch Party Wednesday

 

Head over to Mercer Village for a block party in the street to watch the Mercer Bears vs. Utah State Aggies in the CIT Championship on a big screen! That's on Wednesday at 9 p.m.

The big screen will be set up near Francars and Barnes & Noble. The road through Mercer Village will be blocked off to traffic.
