Museum of Aviation Holds Poster Contest

The Museum of Aviation Education Department is inviting 4th graders to submit an entry in the 8th Annual Skyscapes Poster Contest.  This year’s theme is “What Can You Do With Red, White and Blue?” in honor of the American Flag’s Colors.

Individual entries must be delivered to the Education Department by Nov. 5, and judging will take place on Nov. 9.  Entries will be judged on artistic talent and creativity in representing the theme.  Posters will be judged by the Robins Air Force Base Officer’s Spouses’ Club and other community leaders. The top 7 winners will receive prizes, and their artwork will be on display in the Century of Flight Hangar for a year following the contest.

An awards ceremony will be held on Friday, Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Century of Flight Hangar. Any school that submits 50 or more entries will be eligible to win a free ACE Field Trip for up to 90 students.  The deadline for school entries is November 4.  A drawing will be held at the Awards Ceremony for one free Field Trip.

The event is sponsored by the NASA Educator Resource Center, Robins Officers’ Spouses’ Club, and Museum of Aviation Education Department.  For poster contest rules and more information contact Claire Swinford at (478) 222-7547 or e-mail cswinford@museumofaviation.org.
