Southwest Hosts Mock Interview Workshop

On March 11-13, 2014, senior students enrolled in Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) classes at Southwest High School participated in Mock Interviews. These mock interviews exposed students to the interview portion of the college admissions, scholarship and job search process.

Students reported to the interviews with an entry level resume and application. Students said the interviews were beneficial in that they gained tips on marketing their skill set and increased their confidence in talking with potential employers.

Central High School held its inaugural Mock Interview Job Fair on March 11-13, 2014. Participating in the major event were seniors, juniors, and work-based learning students who are enrolled in courses in the area of Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE). Approximately 110 students came “dressed for success” to participate in the Mock Interview Job Fair. The purpose was to expose the students to the importance of interviews and the basic techniques for a successful interview. In addition to the job-search process, the event also focused on helping the students with interviews for things such as college admission and scholarships. The outstanding support of the interviewers made the event a huge success, also.
