Single Lane Closures on I-75 in Macon

From  7 a.m. through 9 p.m., Saturday, January 22 and Sunday, January 23 on I-75 north and southbound between Pierce Avenue and Arkwright Rd, a single lane closure on I-75 north and southbound will be in effect.

This is for the continued removal of the Riverview Rd. Bridge and Arkwright Rd. bridge, a Georgia Department of Transportation news release says.

During this time, the I-75 northbound exit will have a single lane open, but will not be able to accomodate over-sized loads.

 

Weekend Lane Closure for I-75 Northbound and Southbound

 

A single lane closure on I-75 north and southbound  will occur this weekend in order to continue removal of the Riverview Road Bridge and Arkwright Road Bridge, a Georgia Department of Transportation news release says.

The schedule lists I-75 Northbound with a single lane closure from 7 a.m. through 9 p.m. on Saturday, January 15 and I-75 Southbound with single lane closure from 7 a.m. through 9 p.m. on Sunday, January 16.

The closure will occur on I-75 between Pierce Avenue and Arkwright Road.

 

Trash Pickup Delay in Schedule

Southland Waste Systems will have delays in trash pickup due to inclement weather conditions on Monday, January 10, 2011.

Solid waste collection in the unincorporated areas of Bibb County will be running one day behind schedule.

Bibb County employees should report at 11 a.m.

Bibb County superior and state court, jurors are excused from state and superior courts.

Single-lane Closures on I-16

Single-lane closures began Friday on I-16 both East and Westbound.

The closures are in place between mile marker 26 and 30, near Exist 27, the Georgia Department of Transportation release says.

The single lane closures will occur continuously through 5 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23.

DOT Anticipates Holiday Travel Delays

The Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) anticipates more travelers than usual with Christmas Day falling on a Saturday this year.

High congestion areas include I-75, I-16, and I-475 in Bibb County, the DOT release says.

“We anticipate heavy traffic throughout the metro Atlanta area beginning Thursday around noon” said Georgia DOT Commissioner Vance C. Smith, Jr. “Mall and retail center traffic will be particularly congested. Additionally, many travelers will be returning home over the weekend.”

Motorists should expect congestion near malls and retail centers throughout the week leading up to Christmas Day.

The DOT will suspend construction-related lane closures on all interstates and state routes from noon Thursday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 27 at 5 a.m.

Weekend Lane Closure on I-75 in Bibb

From 7 a.m. through 9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11 and Sunday, Dec. 12 on I-75 north and southbound between Pierce Ave. and Arkwright Rd, there will be a single lane closure.

That's according to a news release from The Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT)

The Georgia DOT has been notified by the contractor of a single lane closure on I-75 north and southbound in order to continue removal of the Riverview Road Bridge.
